Ningmu Zou received his Ph.D. degree in Optical Engineering from Cornell University in 2017 and he graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Nanjing University in 2011. Before joining Nanjing University, he worked as a Staff Engineer at AMD Inc. from 2017 to 2023, where he led innovative research in AI-driven semiconductor manufacturing processes, defect detection, and yield optimization. He also served as an adjunct professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Texas State University. He joined the School of Integrated Circuits at Nanjing University as an Associate Professor and Ph.D. supervisor. He is the recipient of the 2024 SME Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award, the 2022 Top 10 Chinese Young Scholars in the US Award, and the 2023 Huawei Zijin Scholar Award. His current research interests are centered on AI-enhanced fabrication and characterization of 2D semiconductors, the integration of 2D materials with silicon-based devices, and the design and optimization of 2D heterostructures for next-generation electronics. He has published over 30 papers in prestigious journals such as Nature and its sub-journals, and holds 24 patents.
